Lusona (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates as a Venture Operating System for the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Pharmaceutical, and Natural Health Product sectors. We are committed to protecting not only your personal data but, critically, your Intellectual Property (IP), trade secrets, and proprietary formulations.
This policy outlines how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website or engage our 360° venture services.
We collect information that identifies you as an individual when you book a consultation, use our “Regulatory Chat,” or sign up for our services:
Identity Data: Name, job title, and company name.
Contact Data: Email address, phone number, and billing address.
Digital Data: IP address, browser type, and usage data via cookies (to optimize our dashboard performance).
To perform our Formulation and Regulatory services, we collect highly sensitive proprietary information, including but not limited to:
Formulation Data: Quantitative ingredient lists (INCI), raw material sources, and percentage breakdowns.
Supply Chain Data: Manufacturer details, GMP audit reports, and costing structures.
Regulatory Data: Product labels, health claims, and prior refusal notices from Health Canada or the FDA.
We use your data strictly to execute the “Venture OS” services:
Regulatory Filings: To prepare and submit Product Licence Applications (PLA), Cosmetic Notification Forms (CNF), Health Canada submissions (including PLAs where applicable) and U.S. regulatory requirements that may apply to the product category.
R&D & Formulation: To engineer products in our laboratory network.
AI Analysis: We use proprietary AI models to audit your ingredients against regulatory “Hotlists” (e.g., Health Canada Hotlist, FDA MoCRA). Note: Your formulation data is processed securely and is never used to train public AI models.
Supply Chain Management: To coordinate with third-party manufacturers and logistics partners on your behalf.
We do not sell your data. We disclose information only in the following specific scenarios:
Government Bodies: We share necessary technical data with Health Canada, the FDA, and other relevant regulatory authorities only for the purpose of obtaining market authorization (NPN, DIN, etc.) on your behalf.
Manufacturing Partners: With your explicit consent, we share formulation specs with our vetted network of contract manufacturers solely for production purposes. These partners are bound by strict Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
Legal Obligations: If required by law to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.
We understand that your formula is your business.
Ownership: You retain 100% ownership of your pre-existing IP. Any new IP developed during our engagement (e.g., custom formulations) is assigned to you upon final payment, as per our Master Service Agreement (MSA).
Security: We utilize enterprise-grade encryption for all client portals and document repositories. Access to formulation data is restricted to essential R&D and Regulatory staff only.
Lusona operates globally. If you are a client based in the EU or UK, note that your data may be processed in Canada and the United States. Canada provides an “adequate” level of data protection under GDPR standards. By using our services, you consent to this transfer.
Under laws such as PIPEDA (Canada) and GDPR (Europe), you have rights regarding your data:
Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
Correction: Request corrections to any inaccurate data.
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements for regulatory filings).
To exercise these rights, please contact our Privacy Officer.
